History of non-productive cough of three days duration. Physical Exam: BAR, BCS 7/9, possible 1/6 murmur, panting during the entire exam.Temp 102.5. Round firm non-mobile 3-4 cm subcutaneous mass on the right side of the neck at C5-C7.

Severe Left to Right VSD and Minor Pulmonic Stenosis in a 3 month old MN African Pinscher dog

History of recent adoption, seems very quiet for a puppy but no other clinical signs. Physical exam revealed 5-6/6 systolic murmur, audible bilaterally.

Splenic mast cell disease in a 13 year old FS DSH cat

A 13-year-old spayed female DSH was presented for evaluation of intermittent chronic vomiting. Abnormalities on physical examination were pale mucus membranes, grade I/VI murmur, and ascites.  

Subaortic stenosis (SAS) and pulmonic stenosis in a 11 year old MN German Shepherd dog

An 11-month-old MN German Shepherd dog was presented for evaluation of a grade IV/VI heart murmur. Systemic BP was elevated (175/120). On survey radiographs cardiomegaly in the region of the right ventricle/pulmonary artery and mild left atrial enlargement was evident.

Myxomatous stage B1 mitral valve disease with moderate mitral regurgitation in a 10 year old FS Yorkshire Terrier dog

A 10-year-old FS Yorkshire terrier was presented for evaluation of a grade III/VI heart murmur. Lungs were normal, heart rate was 136bpm, respiratory rate was 36 bpm, and BP was normal (159/86).

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with myocardial failure and tachycardia in a 1 year old MN DSH cat

A 1-year-old MN DSHcat with a history of cardiac disease that was being treated with Plavix, enalapril, pimobendan, furosemide, and atenolol was presented for evaluation of weakness and dyspnea. Physical exam:  tachycardia (200-400bpm) and a grade III/VI heart murmur

A 10-year-old SF Labrador was presented for evaluation of ascites, which was quantified as a modified transudate. Additional history on this dog was that 11 months prior an ovariohysterectomy and resection of mammary gland tumors had been done. The tumors were benign on histopathology. An 11-year-old MN Golden Retriever dog was presented for evaluation of tachypnea and a grade II/VI murmur. Systolic blood pressure indicated hypertension (255/105). There was no evidence of abdominal neoplasia, renal disease, or Cushing’s disease on abdominal ultrasound examination.
