The patient is a 6 year old neutered male Dachshund dog. Clinical findings include abdominal distension. (A sample of ascites was sent out for cytology and revealed serosanguinous modified transudate). Physical examination also revealed a grade 3/6 heart murmur. Medications included furosemide and enalapril. Blood work showed albumin was low at 2.3.

Prostatic carcinoma diagnosed by ultrasound-guided FNA in a 14 year old MN Pomeranian

A 14-year-old neutered male Pomeranian dog was presented for evaluation of pollakiuria,  diarrhea, inappetence, and lethargy. Abnormalities on physical examination included a painful, enlarged and symmetrical prostate, a very large and firm urinary bladder that could be expressed, and a grade III/VI heart murmur. On survey thoracic radiographs, calcification of the prostate gland was evident.

Stage B2 valvular disease with mitral valve prolapse, left atrial enlargement and pulmonary hypertension in a 10 year old MN Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This  10-year-old MN King Charles Cavalier dog was presented for evaluation of heart disease – chronic valvular disease with a grade IV/VI systolic murmur in the mitral region and current medication being furosemide, enalapril and pimobendan. 

Valvular Disease & Pulmonary Hypertension

An 8-year-old F Maltese was presented for examination.  A grade 5/6 systolic heart murmur was noted. Radiographs revealed severe generalized cardiomegaly and an unremarkable pulmonary parenchyma. Moderate hepatomegaly and ascites was additionally noted.

An 8-year-old F Maltese was presented for examination.  A grade 5/6 systolic heart murmur was noted. Radiographs revealed severe generalized cardiomegaly and an unremarkable pulmonary parenchyma. Moderate hepatomegaly and ascites was additionally noted.

The patient is a canine mix, Intact female, 5 years. The patient has a history of a cough and lethargy. A grade V/VI left sided heart murmur was noted.

The patient is a canine Shih Tzu, NM, 13 years. The patient has been coughing and has a grade III/VI heart murmur.
