artifact vs. mucosal pathology

10 year old MN 91 lb pit mix evaluated for vomiting and diarrhea, now all resolving. His jejunum is measuring between 5.2-5.9 mm, which is a bit thicker than normal ranges I’m familiar with, <5 mm. Would you be concerned about these values in such a large dog? I'm also wondering your thoughts on the attached videos with what appears to be gas bubbles in the duodenal mucosa. Is this an artifact? There is not thickening or surrounding inflammation, but I don't want to miss a duodenal ulcer (seems like I see this from time to time and not sure if I should be concerned).

There is mild thickening of the jejunum, which may just be resolving enteritis but needs to be monitored for IBD. Gas bubble most likely artefact as (as you mention) no associated changes but again monitor for progression. Has the patient been on NSAIDs as they can cause duodenal ulceration?

Thank you for your reply – they did not report any NSAIDs.
