Foreign body in a 10 month old FS dog

A 10-month-old FS dog was presented for anorexia and possible ingestion of a foreign body. No abnormalities were noted on the physical exam. CBC found an elevated hemoglobin concentration, as well as a leukocytosis due to a neutrophilia and monocytosis. Blood chemistry revealed hyperproteinemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hypochloremia. The T4 was within normal reference range.

A 12-year-old MN Golden Retriever dog was presented for the evaluation of anorexia and weight loss (18% weight loss within a two week period.) On physical examination, a large mass was palpated in the abdomen. No abnormalities were noted on the CBC, but the serum biochemical profile showed hypocalcemia, decreased CK, and decreased magnesium.

An 11-year-old MN Brittany Spaniel dog was presented for anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, and anemia. Urinalysis was within normal limits. On CBC regenerative anemia, leukocytosis, neutrophilia, and monocytosis were present. Abnormalities on serum chemistry were hypoalbuminemia, low albumin/globulin ratio (0.7), hypocalcemia, and hypomagnesemia.

An 11-year-old MN Shepherd mix was presented for weight loss, inappetance, and vomiting. Recent blood work was within normal limits and the only abnormality on urinalysis was crystaluria – few triple phosphate and rare amorphous phosphate. Radiographs were not taken.
