Ectopic ureter, hydronephrosis, hydroureter, and ureterocele in a 3 year old MN Labrador Retriever

A 3-year-old neutered male Labrador Retriever dog was presented for evaluation of  decreased appetite, possible polyuria and polydypsia, taking longer to urinate than normal, and hematuria. On urinalysis, isosthenuria (1.016), 3+ protein, white blood cells, and red blood cells were present. Stress leukogram was evident on CBC, but serum chemistry was within normal limits.

A 6-year-old NM Dachshund with a history prednisone therapy for inability to walk was presented for evaluation of lethargy and anorexia. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry were anemia, band neutrophilia, azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, hypoproteinemia, elevated amylase, and prolonged PT and PTT.

GI Linear Foreign Body in a 7 year old FS Wheaton Terrier dog

A 7-year-old FS Wheaton Terrier dog was presented for evaluation of vomiting and anorexia for a week that had been treated with Ampicillin, Cerenia, Famotidine, and fluids. 

Hepatic Carcinoma in a 13 year old MN DLH cat

The patient is a feline DLH, MN, 13 years The patient has a poor appetite and distended abdomen.

Prostatic carcinoma diagnosed by ultrasound-guided FNA in a 14 year old MN Pomeranian

A 14-year-old neutered male Pomeranian dog was presented for evaluation of pollakiuria,  diarrhea, inappetence, and lethargy. Abnormalities on physical examination included a painful, enlarged and symmetrical prostate, a very large and firm urinary bladder that could be expressed, and a grade III/VI heart murmur. On survey thoracic radiographs, calcification of the prostate gland was evident.

Bicavitary and pericardial effusion and lung mass in a 13 year old MN Jack Russell Terrier

A 13-year-old NM Jack Russell terrier dog was presented for evaluation of PU/PD, decreased appetite, and abdominal distension. Blood work showed mild hypoproteinemia and elevated ALT activity.

Ureteral stones (calculi) with ureteral obstruction and hydronephrosis in a 5 year old FS Shih-tzu dog

A 5-year-old FS Shih-tzu dog presented for intermittent vomiting one week duration, inappetance. The clinical exam revealed upper abdominal discomfort. The bloodwork revealed elevated white blood cell count and normal blood chemistry. Two radiopaque marble size structures noted on abdominal radiographs suspected to be nephroliths or intestinal foreign body. Urinalysis was pending at the time…

Post hepatic biliary obstruction in an 8 year old MN DSH Cat with biliary calculus.

An 8-year-old MN DSH cat presented for weight loss, anorexia and icterus. Other than icterus th eclinical exam was unremarkable. Total bilirubin 5.6 was elevated along with ALT,  SAP  and prolanged PT and APTT on the coagualtion panel.

Non-DCM cardiomyopathy, depressed function with ventricular tachycardia and fusion beats in an 11-year-old MN Labrador retriever with exercise intolerance and lethargy

An 11-year-old MN Labrador retriever was prestented for excercise intolerance, lethargy, depression, vomiting and diarrhea. The physical exam was unremarkable other than a grade 2 left sided heart mumur at the heart base and irregular heart beat with pulse deficits. CBC, CHEM, UA, and acth stim were all normal.

Thoracic carcinomatosis in a 12 year old DSH cat with ADR clinical signs

A 12-year-old MN DSH cat was presented for “ADR”, respiratory distress, and weight loss. Radiographs revealed pleural effusion obscuring the cardiac silouette.
