A 15 year old female spayed mixed canine with a history of decreased appetite, diarrhea, and ataxia was presented for evaluation of being unable to walk, weak and lethargic, anorexic, and possible seizures. Abnormalities on serum biochemistry were severely elevated liver enzyme activity, bilirubinemia, hypokalemia, and elevated pre-prandial bile acids. Systolic blood pressure was normal.

A 9-year-old MN Bassett Hound was presented for history of possible pancreatitis, lethargy, and anorexia, which was progressive over the last week. An 11-year-old FS Shih Tzu presented for evaluation of bradycardia. Heart rate is 60 BPM and went down to 48 during surgery for cyst removal. No overt clinical problems except for decreased appetite. Bloods showed elevated BNP and ALP activity. Blood pressure was within normal limits.

A 10-year-old NM DSH with a history of chronic intermittent vomiting over 1 month was presented for a 3-day duration of anorexia and protracted vomiting. Abnormalities on physical examination were weight loss and icteric mucus membranes. Serum biochemistry showed bilirubinemia, elevated ALT activity (1670), and low BUN.

A 12-year-old SF Labrador retriever cross was presented with a history of decreased appetite, distended abdomen and occasional vomiting. The only significant abnormality on physical examination was ascites. Moderately elevated liver enzyme activity was present on laboratory testing. Approximately 2 liters of fluid were drained from the abdomen, which was quantified as a transudate.
Pancreatitis with regional lymphadenopathy in a 7 year old MN American Eskimo dog
A 7-year-old NM American Eskimo dog was presented for evaluation of vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence, and abdominal pain. Pancreatitis was suspected on blood work due to elevated lipase and amylase. The dog had improved with medical intervention (anti-emetics, H2 blockers, pain meds, SQ fluids, and Flagyl) but colitis signs were still present.
