A 5-year-old male German shepherd was presented for evaluation of progressive pain, lethargy, anorexia, and hunched back following an episode of abdominal trauma – tried to jump over a large hole and hit his abdomen on the edge of the hole. 

Leptospirosis in a 12 year old FS mixed dog

The patient is a canine mix, FS, 12 ½ years. The patient is anorexic and lethargic. The patient has a tense abdomen. Anemic. BUN and creatinine were elevated. ALKP, bilirubin, GGT elevated. The patient was treated and then BUN was 48 and creatinine 2.9.

Systemic mycosis with acute renal failure in a 2-year-old MN German Shepherd

A 2-year-old MN German Shepherd was presented for anorexia, lethargy, exhibiting acute renal failure and the following labs: Azotemia (BUN >130; Creat 9.9), USG=1.012, Hyperblilrubinemia, and Leukocytosis (52,000).

A 13-year-old SF DSH was presented for evaluation of 5-6 days of anorexia and weight loss. Abnormalities on physical examination were dehydration and dilated pupils. Urinalysis showed bilirubinuria. Abnormalities on serum biochemistry were elevated ALP activity and bilirubin.

Carcinomatosis in an 11 year old FS DSH cat

An 11-year-old spayed female DSH cat was presented for evaluation of anorexia with survey radiographs showing ascites. Abnormalities on blood work included elevated BUN,  ALP, and and lipase.

A 3-year-old male Labrador Retriever dog was presented for anorexia and weight loss. CBC was within normal limits, however blood chemistry showed hyperproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia, low albumin/globulin ratio, marked azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, mild hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, and hyperamylasemia. T4 was within normal range. The urine had a cloudy appearance; 3+ proteinuria and 3+ hematuria were present on urinalysis.
