Esophageal mass or hiatal hernia

Spencer is an 8 yr old MN Miniature Pinscher weighing 13.8#.

He was being evaluated for a cough by the rDVM.

A mass was noted in the caudal mid thorax and radiologist was concerned about esophagus mass or hiatal hernia.

I tried to image this subcostally both standing and in dorsal recumbency. I have imaged pulmonary masses this way that were close to the diaphragm.

The images are not great but still curious as to what ya all think. The pet was panting alot during the exam.
