Perforated Intestine From A Linear Foreign Body In A 14-Year-Old MN Dachshund: Our Case Of the Month 2017
A 14-year-old, MN, Dachshund was presented for vomiting, fever, diarrhea, and anorexia x 3 days. The patient had a history of pancreatitis and foreign body. The patient had a painful abdomen. Blood work revealed leukocytosis, neutrophilia, low albumin (2.1) and cPL WNL. Radiographs were suspect for peritoneal effusion/peritonitis; irregular gas pattern – enteritis or pancreatitis.
Pancreatic lymphoma confirmed with cytology in a 10 year old MN DSH cat
A 10-year-old MN DSH was presented for evaluation of decreased appetite and lethargy. Abdominal effusion was present on physical examination. Serum biochemistry showed azotemia.
Linear foreign body presentation in a 8 year old MN DSH cat
This 8 year old MN DSH cat presented with a 6 day duration of anorexia, some vomiting. Radiographs revealed a density in the mid ventral abdomen and abnormal ileocecal gas pattern.
Uterine stump pyometra and CVC vascular anomaly in a 11 year old FS Cane Corso
An 11-year-old FS Cane Corso dog was presented post ovariohysterectomy for evaluation of anorexia and an incision site painful seroma that was dripping serosanguinous fluid. Fluid cytology showed the presence of neutrophils.

An 8-year-old NM Labrador Retriever with a history of seizures, cardiac disease, and pacemaker implantation was presented for evaluation of decreased appetite and progressive azotemia. Current therapy was enalapril, phenobarbital and potassium bromide.

A 10-year-old NM Labrador cross was presented for inappetence, abdominal pain, heavy breathing, and intermittent abdominal distension. Blood work was normal. Survey radiographs showed splenomegaly and decreased liver size.

A 14-year-old SF DSH was presented for evaluation of weight loss, anorexia, vomiting, and icterus. Abnormalities on serum biochemistry were elevated ALT (1056), amylase (1574), and bilirubin (7.6).

An 11-year-old NM Labrador was presented for evaluation of acute onset vomiting and anorexic. Physical examination showed right-sided head tilt (previous TECA), dehydration, and non-painful abdominal palpation. CBC was within reference range. Abnormalities on serum biochemistry were elevated ALP activity and amylase.
