– would this be concerning for thyroid carcinoma, parathyroid neoplasia, other?

Looking at my first still

Looking at my first still above, now I am wondering if I do see some thyroid tissue, proving thst this is coming from the thyroid? I labelled it below:

From Atlas of of Small Animal

From Atlas of of Small Animal Ultrasonography (Penninck/Anjou)

“Thyroid glands occasionally contain cysts with distal acoustic enhancement. These cyst can be confused with normal parathyroid glands, which can also appear hypoechoic or anechoic. The cyst may be irregular in shape, but its margin should be visible in both planes. Thyroid and parathyroid neoplasia, sush as thyroid cystadenoma and parathyroid adenocarcinoma, can also appear cystic (phillips et al. 2003

yep… carcinoma’s have hot

yep… carcinoma’s have hot doppler flow typically and this has flow around it and you can see the thyroid capsule encompassing botht he normal tissue to the left of your image and continuing around the cyst. looks pretty benign but you can drain it if need be or surgically remove it. I doubt there is any abscessation because there is no inflammatory pattern around it.

I have recommended surgical

I have recommended surgical removal and histopath with pre-surgical CT if the client can afford it.  Anyone have experience with chemical ablation?
