Recommendations for EKG clips

The alligator clips that came with my Alpha are painful as they grip tightly.  I thought I remembered there being some kind of needle adapters out there, at least for cats?  Just wondering what people are using for attaching the EKG leads without causing the patient undue discomfort and interfering with patient cooperation?

Sorry I dont have anything to

Sorry I dont have anything to add here but will check wiht my Techs to see if they have any resourceful tips.

A side note since the ultrasound ecg is just wave form and not a measurable ecg I honestly have gone completely to alive cor use for ecg since that can be measured and is easy to use in the field and no pinching and i can email directly from my iphone. I know some cardiologists insist on clips and ecg while doing an echo but I have yet to see a case where I really need that simultaneous combo to get what I need… if I see an arrythmia then I run the alive cor. As yyou can see Im not a purist here:)

Thanks Eric! I keep

Thanks Eric! I keep forgetting about Alive cor.  If I do want to run it concurrently with my echo, would still  like to hear if there are any other options.

I always filed down the

I always filed down the alligator clips to make them more comfortable – you do have to be more careful though about them slipping.

Some companies do make more lattened clips, like this one https://www.midmarkanimalhealth.com/store/products/detail/flat-ecg-clips-(5-pack) (I saw these for $20 on ebay so worth looking around a bit)

or these, which seem even rounder than the above https://www.ebay.com/itm/5PCS-Clamp-veterinary-ekg-ecg-crocodile-electrode-flat-clip-snap-connection-/262148881335

I would check with your main supply distributor to see what they have. I believe I’ve seen even some gel pads for animals that are attached to the paw pads

I purchased that $20 smooth

I purchased that $20 smooth clips from ebay that EL mentioned. I clip the ouchy alligator clips to the smooth clips and use those. Not a great solution in that the smooth clips slide off the patient very easily. I’m looking for alternatives, also.

I have no experience with them, but I have seen ECG limb plates that involve a “wrist” band that goes around the patient’s legs with a plate and then the electode gets attached to the plate so no pinch.
