Chronic, Focally Extensive Transmural Enteritis in an 11-Year-Old FS Tibetan Terrier: Our Case Of the Month February 2019

An 11-year-old FS Tibetan terrier was presented for vomiting for 2 weeks. Physical examination found a palpable mass in the abdomen and pale mucous membranes.

Left adrenal mass, possibly pheochromocytoma, metastatizing to the spleen in a 6 year old intact F Rottweiller

A 6-year-old intact female Rottweiler was presented for routine ovariohysterectomy but on physical examination showed weight loss, lethargy, pale mucosa, and tense abdomen on palpation. Abnormalities on CBC were anemia, thrombocytopenia, lymphocytosis, and monocytosis. On survey radiographs, a possible mass effect cranial-mid-abdomen was present.

This 9 year old FS Bulldog presented with lethargy and inappetance of 2 days duration.  Physical exam: MM white, CRT undetectable, abdomen tense with possible mass right mid-abdomen, slight fluid wave CBC/Chem: HCT 17.4%, WBCs 18,600 with increased neutrophils, Hgb low 6.6, Phos 5.2, Ca low 8.7, alb low 2.4, K+ low 140

RADS and US – Nephritis, splenomegaly, hypovolemia and microcardia, possible Leptospirosis in a 5 year old MN Giant Schnauzer dog

This 5 year old MN Giant Schnauzer presented with acute onset lethargy and hematuria Physical exam: slightly pale and icteric mucous membranes. Temp 103.1 CBC: HCT 21.7%, HGB- 7.2g/dl, platelets 30,000; coagulation panel Normal ( pT and ApTT) 4DX= Negative Chem: Albumin- Normal at 4.0 g/dl, TBIL increased 3.8 mg/dl

Right and Left Sided Heart Failure, Pleural Effusion, Atrial Enlargement in a 3 year old FS DSH cat

Presenting Clinical Signs: Owner states pet is very lethargic, not eating or drinking for “a few days”. Also c/o fleas. Pet had topical OTC flea med Thursday morning. No other meds.  Physical Exam: Lethargy, lateral with 10% dehydration and very thin body condition. Pale mm, Poor body condition

Splenic mast cell disease in a 13 year old FS DSH cat

A 13-year-old spayed female DSH was presented for evaluation of intermittent chronic vomiting. Abnormalities on physical examination were pale mucus membranes, grade I/VI murmur, and ascites.
