Pancreatic necrosis in a 10 year old MN Husky

A 10-year-old NM Husky was presented for evaluation of acute onset weakness and abdominal pain after getting into garbage with pork remains overnight. Physical examination revealed hemorrhagic diarrhea, few bouts of vomiting, and pyrexia. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry were monocytosis, azotemia, bilirubinemia, and elevated proteins.

Flattened adrenals in a non-Addisonian 5 year old Golden Retriever dog with vomiting, hematochezia and hypoalbuminemia.

A 5-year-old NM Golden retriever was presented for vomiting. Hematochezia was present on physical examination. The only pertinent abnormality on serum biochemistry was hypoalbuminemia.

Gastrointestinal foreign body in a 6 year old FS Boxer

This 6-year-old FS Boxer dog was presented for immediate postprandial vomiting over the past 3 days with concurrent diarrhea. The physical exam was largely normal with liquid brown diarrhea and hematochezia noted on rectal palpation. The CBC was normal. Blood chemistry analysis revealed slightly decreased albumin and moderately elevated amylase and lipase. Urinalysis was normal….

Gastric Foreign Body in a 12 year old FS Portuguese Water Dog

This 12-year-old FS Portuguese Water Dog presented for acute onset of anorexia, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea. The physical exam revealed hematochezia present on rectal exam with mild dehydration and distended stomach.
