An 8-month-old Miniature Schnauzer was presented for evaluation of lethargy and polyuria. Urinalysis showed no significant abnormalities. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry were leukocytosis, lymphocytosis, severely elevated bile acids (220), and elevated ALT and AST activity.
Ureterolith with hydronephrosis in a 13 year old FS Dachshund
A 13-year-old female spayed Dachshund was presented for evaluation of weight loss, inappetence, and frequent urination. Urinalysis showed inappropriate SG (1.020), proteinuria, and hematuria. Abnormalities on CBC and serum biochemistry included leukocytosis, mild anemia, and hypoalbuminemia.
Stump garnuloma open pyometra in a 15 month old FS Shih Tzu
A 15-month-old SF Shih Tzu dog was presented for evaluation of frequent urination and painful abdomen a few days after having an ovariohysterectomy. On physical examination the patient was depressed and had a painful caudal abdomen at the site of incision.
03_00213 Snowball L Hepatocellular carcinoma
A 13-year-old FS Samoyed with history of azotemia and urinary leaking, on DES and NF diet, was presented for polyuria. Leukocyturia was present on urinalysis. Abnormalities on CBC and blood chemistry were thrombocytosis, monocytosis, elevated AST, ALT and ALP activity, hyperkalemia, and hyperamylasemia.
Intestinal Lymphoma in a 12 year old MN DSH cat
A 12-year-old MN DSH cat was presented for acting hungry but not eating, polyuria, and progressive weight loss. The only significant abnormality on physical examination was a thickened intestine.
Primary congenital renal dysplasia and pyelonephritis in a 1 year old FS Boxer
A 1-year-old spayed female Boxer dog was presented for excessive urination and anorexia. Abnormalities on urinalysis were hyposthenuria, trace hematuria, leukocyturia, and bacilli bacteria. Abnormalities on blood chemistry were elevated ALP activity and moderate azotemia. Lyme 4DX test results were negative.

Mitral valve prolapse and moderate insufficiency in a 10 year old FS Maltese
A 10 year old female spayed Maltese was presented for excessive urination. The only significant abnormality on physical examination was a grade II/VI systolic heart murmur. On urinalysis, an inappropriate SG and 2+ proteinuria was present. CBC was within normal limits, but blood chemistry showed elevated ALT activity and azotemia. T4 was 1.2.
Chronic renal disease with infarction in a 7 year old MN DSH cat
A 7 year old neutered male DSH cat was presented with a history of azotemia, polyuria, polydypsia, and weight loss. Physical examination and blood pressure were both within normal limits. The only significant abnormality on urinalysis was a subnormal specific gravity. Abnormalities on blood chemistry included azotemia and hypercalcemia.
