2 year old MN Maltese 1 month histoy pollakiuria
– U/A unremarkable and culture negative
– clinical signs persisted despite 1 week trial of Clavamox
– cbc and biochem wnl
– u/s showed a mass in the neck/trigone region that appears to be indenting the dorsal bladder wall (located between the bladder and the colon)
– scanning through the region, there is an indentation into the bladder lumen possible diverticulum?
– liver normal in size and echogenecity; kidneys and rest of u/s normal
What could this be?

JP thats just the angle and a
JP thats just the angle and a prominent uniform residual prostate. Not likely a mass. You can get more info doing an US guided traumatic cateterization.
re th evideo the xxx means its uploading. We are working on changing that.

This little guy was neutered
This little guy was neutered at about 6 momths and apparently had a left inguinal retained testicle that was removed (I spoke with the vet who did the surgery). Do you think there is some extra testosterone floating around?
Would a residual prostate cause pollakuria? Would I be looking for BPH on biopsy?
(BTW, the videos did up-load but then I got a message that they were too large for the website)
Thanks!

Prostate may be the cause.
Prostate may be the cause. Other consideration would be urethral disease such as inflammation and calculi with neoplasia unlikely in such a young dog. Is it easy to pass a urtinary catheter? Also consider doing an FNA of the prostate.
