A 5-year-old MN Beagle was presented for continued cough after having been diagnosed with kennel cough at another clinic. Antibiotics and Tussigon were not helping, so the owners went for a second opinion. Thoracic radiographs showed plueral effusion so a cardiac scan was ordered, followed by a chest tap.

We need an abdominal ultrasound +/- an echo?
What would typically make one investigate the chest during an abdominal ultrasound? The key factors I would think are ascites, masses, or dilated hepatic veins. Anything else that would drive you to the chest during an abdominal evaluation?
It’s Staring at me! Face in Gallbladder?
I was performing a routine abd scan when I got the feeling someone was watching me… It was a little face in this K9 gallbladder! What is it? Artifact? Poltergeist? And it doesn’t look to happy to see me either. 
12 L images on Logic e are 41 mb each!
Posting for a fellow technician: We are using a 12 L probe for parts of our ultrasound exam and when we send our telemedicine files, the 12 L images are big files. It’s a refurbed probe, but it is in good condition. Does anyone have recommendations for setting when using this probe or a solution…

Copper Toxicity in a 17-week-old Female Husky??
17-week-old Female Husky Showing signs of aggression, food guarding/possession Tremors, seizure activity. New aniscoria Bite history at 12-weeks Normal Bile acids and full bloods normal as well. Considering liver biopsy for Copper Toxicity. An ultrasound has not been performed yet. If she had copper toxicity would it be considered hepatic necrosis due to her age?…

I have been performing echoes lately and I have not run into this scenario as of yet, but can you diagnose mets in the chest via ultrasound? Also how would you go about obtaining an FNA in this area?
