Image Interpretation

The stomach is moderately fluid filled. The pylorus presents with a mild amount of mineral opaque gravity-dependent material, “gravel-sign-like”. The small intestinal loops present even diameter without dilation. The colon is mildly gas filled and otherwise empty.

DX

The findings are consistent with gastro-enteritis and secondary gastric emptying disorder of the stomach

Outcome

No mechanical obstruction is noted. However, on occasion a
high ileus of the duodenum may lack typical radiographic signs of mechanical
obstruction radiographically and therefore cannot be ruled out entirely.
