Uterus – problem, or not?

Sonopath Forum

Uterus – problem, or not?

-4 year old Rottweiler recently brought from the South for breeding

– supposed to have been bred 35 days ago

– happens to be heartworm positive

– mild to moderate serous vaginal discharge, not in estrus

– White count normal (esosinophilia)

– not clinically ill

Is this the uterus and does this look normal? I’m pretty confident there’s no pregnancy. Owner is concerned about pyometra developing.

metritis … note the ill

metritis … note the ill defined periserosal fat that indicates inflammation. The echogenic luminal material is suggestive for macerated fetus given the 35 day scenario. I would clean out shot PG (i think been a while since i had te do this) and tx abs and rescan in a week unless not doing well then ovh.
