umbilical hernia?

umbilical hernia?

This is a 4 year old FS poodle came for an abdominal US for other reasons. There is a 1cm lump in ventral midline, firm. Apparently appeared after spaying 4 years ago. never mentioned until now. FNA: adipose tissue, lipoma.

Are these videos suggestive of a peduncular fat tissue communicating lump and goingo into abd cavity?

There is practically no color in doppler assessment, which makes me think hernia more likely.

I took a FNA cause I saw a hypoechoic centre in the middle of the subcut mass.

Thanks for any input.

Hmm i agree the body wall is

Hmm i agree the body wall is nebulous and there looks to be a mushroom shaped pedicle at the base but I don’t see the exact hernia. Power doppler will help here to follow vessels form the abdomen into the sc space. I added an umbilical hernia here showing the body wall interrusption (short arrow) and the hypoechoic pedicle. This is the overt dx view just have to try different angles around the base of the “mushroom” to get the interruption of the body wall. SC abscesses and sarcomas can look the same.

Here is a cool strnagulated inguinal hernia and some other hernias for entertainment value:)

thanks,
it is not that clear

thanks,

it is not that clear from my scan. The doppler does not really show vessels going into the mass…

thanks again for the info.
