Hello,
I just thought it would be interesting to find out what people on the Forum are using as far as ultrasound machines/probes and what experience you’ve had with them.
I am using a MyLab 30 vet with a multi-freq Curvilinear (CA) probe (4-9MHz) probe for abdomens. I also have a Linear (LA) (7-12 MHz) probe and a Phased Array (PA) (3-5 MHz) probe.

I am very happy with the Mylab 30 in general and the curvilinear probe. The PA probe is good for medium to larger dogs, but the 2-D image is poor for cats and small dogs. I generally use the CA for 2-D on these patients and the PA for doppler.
I’m not happy with the LA – the footprint is too large for most of the applications it should be used for.
Is anyone else using the MyLab? Probes for cardiac you are using?
What about the other machines, like the GE, MindRay, etc…..?

Here in NJ my team uses the logic e bt11 and have been very happy with it. We have 6 machines and they have been solid with occasional handle issues. Its important to reload sw every 6 months or so after saving presets. 12L 8c and 6s transducers and a 3s for really big dogs and congenital cardiac. These do everything we need and all the educational products i have put out are largely form these with some mylab input from Peter Modler (see his cardiac folder) on the new cardiac portion of the normals/age related changes /efficiency clips dvd coming out next month. We put about 200 cases/month on each machine and have been running with these for about 4 years and are swapping them out for new ones now.
Great idea on this post. What is everyone else using?

Hi, i have the exact same
Hi, i have the exact same equipment as you. very happy with it… however i think that the cardio capabiities of the mylabs are lower compared to the logic e or the mindtay m7. i can’t say that the PA121 is the best cardiac probe there is….
anyway, here in Israel they are much cheeper then the GE so… no questions were asked 🙂

Its a constant battle. From what I understand esaote has a new mobile machine that does very good cardio.
