Signs of Stomach Perforation…

Signs of Stomach Perforation…

Had a dog in w/ obvious abdominal fluid and FB shadowing in stomach. At Sx found multiple corn cobs in stomach but also a single perforation in the body of the stomach close to the lesser curvature.

While I appreciated the FB and the abdominal fluid…and given the scenario certainly was clinically suspicious of peritonitis…is there anything on these scans showing the perforation that I’m missing?

I do see an area on the C-loop highlighting the FB shadow then sliding closer to the liver/GB that has a lot of bright inflammatory reaction that in hind site could make me suspicious.

thanks in advance.

If you follow te ill defined

If you follow te ill defined fat you will see its all adhered to the gastric serosa which means transmural pathology wiht that organ… in this case performation/peritonitis and localized free fluid there in the near field in the last video. Your machine settings lack contrast so adjusting persistence, edge enhancement and dynamic range will help to follow curvilinear patterns better as well and evaluate curvilinear (normal) versus ill defined changes (pathological).
