– 11 year FS Golden Retriver presented about a month ago for a red eye

– once comfortable, an ocular ultraosund was performed; the right eye was normal; in the left eye there is an irregular hyperechoic mass that appears to be invading the anterior chamber region all that way into the the vitreous

– there is retinal detachment and some effusion  outside of the globe at the back of the eye where the mass is extending -so possible invasion beyond the eye. There is positive flow on colour and power Doppler – mainly in the periphery of the mass

– abdominal ultraosund was normal. Chest rads not done yet. Possible differentials? melanoma, lymphoma, hemangiosarcoma other?

The echotexture fits

The echotexture fits epithelial tumor or melanoma to me. Ct would be next step to see if anything deeper is involved otherwise globectomy. May want to scan the abdomen for mets or primaries and of course chest rads if not done.
