metritis?

Sonopath Forum

1 year old FI Golden. First estrus cycle started beginning of April and lasted 3 weeks. Has been anorexic since this time. Some intermittent diarrhea and vomiting that has resolved. Does the uterus look more thickened than would expect it to be this far out from estrus? Metritis?

Prominent uterus but cant tell if fluid filled on just the still image. Not a full pyo though so I’d chase other causes like addisons for the GI signs possibly induced by heat stress. I would expect vaginal discharge in the hx if this were metritis.

Thank you, Eric. I have an e-mail in to figure out why my videos are not posting. There was no fluid in this lumen – I just thought it still looked pretty thick. Not sure if the definition of metritis can extend to a uterus without fluid. I was going to suggest they test for Addisons as the adrenals are smallish, but just trying to get an idea of “normal” for in tact females.
