Gastric foreign body?

Gastric foreign body?

Hi! everyone

Pong-pong is a 4 year-old Pomeranian with marked abdominal cramp.

Chief Complain:

  • Sudden vomiting and large bowel diarrhea (mild hematochezia).

History:

  • Vaccinated.
  • Live indoor only.
  • Negative for Parvo and Corona from previous hospital.
  • No food intake in the past 24 hours.

I found this echogenic object with acoustic shadow below within stomach, could this be foreign body?

Hi Poonjeh, there is a
Hi Poonjeh, there is a shadowing Fb but its < 1/2 cm so not likely the issue and could be a part of a sucralfate or other medication for example that has not dissolved. There is some mucosal prominence and remodeling so likely an acute on chronic issue. i would tx gastritis for 36 hours and if not handling a food trial then scope. Cover for helicobacter and canned slurry tid feedings for a week. try hypoallergenic diet and see what resolves. Then rescan in 48 hours to see if that structure is still there. Nice pyloric shots:)

Maybe it was a pill??
Maybe it was a pill?? Sucralfate given the history??? Pills are often slow to dissolve when the stomach is empty and the GI is not functioning.
