Feline Heartworms?

Sonopath Forum

Feline Heartworms?

Adult cat in heartworm endemic area.

Vague history of weight loss and possible pneumonia (per referring vet, radiographs not available for review).

Rest of the echocardiogram appears normal (I’ve included some example images).

Do these look like heartworms?

Apologioes for the delayed

Apologioes for the delayed response.

I think I am seeing the classic railroad tracks for the heartworm cuticle in the MPA distal to the pulmonic valve. It possible its artifact but if you can repeat it maybe in different angles they looks likek heartworms.

I would run a heartworm antigen and antibody test to see what comes up if you havent already.

Thanks, I’m fairly confident

Thanks, I’m fairly confident they were not artifacts since I saw them in several angles more than once.  Just have never seen them in a live cat!
