Cole is a 17 year old MN DSH with a history of CRD and gradual weight loss. He has had elvations in his ALT in the past. An ultrasound in May showed similar changes as today. The liver has cystic changes throughtout and both the common bile duct and pancreatic duct are distended. Today, he also has some rounding of his lymph nodes and they are more prominent but still < 5 mm. Liver FNA has been recommended again. Thoughts in the mean time – could this be a cystadenoma of the liver? Just didn’t think would normally see such distention of the CBD.

Biliary cystadenoma possible
Biliary cystadenoma possible carcinoma. Lns are likely reactive. FNA doesnt work well here need biopsies of the parenchymal portion to get a dx. For this age of a cat the duct dilation is likely an age related thing unless sap and bili start to rise… technically cbd normal is < 4mm but at 17 we give a bit more flexibility if not clinical for the tube dilation.
Great, thanks so much Eric!
