Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Mineralizing prostatic mass, which is strongly suggestive for prostatic carcinoma.

Image Interpretation

The prostate in this patient presented a mixed, echogenic, irregular and strongly mineralizing mass with microcystic changes. Pericapsular inflammatory pattern was noted. This measured 4.54 x 3.75 cm. Cystic portions of the prostate could be drained. However, these are small, and will not likely make a large difference regarding bulk related clinical signs in this prostate. The iliac lymph nodes did not appear to be affected.
