Image Interpretation

The liver was uniformly enlarged with coarse architecture. Nodular hepatic changes were noted. . Hepatic vein dilation was noted. This is consistent with passive congestion. The gallbladder was mildly thickened with irregular contour, yet was collapsed.  A severe amount of ascites was noted in this patient. A large amount of coalesced abdominal fat was noted in this patient.

DX

Passive congestion liver pattern with secondary ascites. Right sided heart failure is suspected.

Outcome

Chronic degenerative, hepatic and renal changes.
