A 13-year-old FS Greyhound was presented as she appeared to be painful on the right hind limb. She was sent home with pain medication but, returned the following day for a re-evaluation. On physical examination, she was weak in the hind limbs and dehydrated. A SNAP 3DXВ® was negative. In-house blood chemistry showed high ALT, hyperglycemia, hypoproteinemia and hyperglobulinemia. CBC found decreased RBC count, elevated HGB, elevated MCH, and elevated MCHC, as well as an increased granulocytes and increased monocytes, a lymphopenia and thrombocytopenia.

Lymphomblastic Lymphoma in a 13 year old FS Greyhound dog
Sonographic Differential Diagnosis
Intestinal infiltrative mass- lymphoma. mast cell neoplasia, adenocarcinoma, granulomatous disease, complicated inflammatory bowel.
Image Interpretation
Thickened, corrugated intestine with loss of detail.
DX
Lymphomblastic lymphoma-intestinal mass. Mild mixed hepatitis.
Outcome
The patient was euthanized for humane reasons due to the development of anorexia and further deterioration in her condition.
Clinical Differential Diagnosis
GI pathology – IBD, pancreatitis, neoplasia, incomplete intestinal obstruction.
Sampling
22-g US guided FNA of the intestinal wall revealed lymphoblastic lymphoma.
