The patient is a 6-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff. The patient was anorexic and has weight loss. Physical exam and blood work were unremarkable.

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Gastric neoplasia. Minor potential for complicated inflammatory disease.

Image Interpretation

Circumferential hypoechoic gastric wall thickening is noted with loss of mural detail. Regional lymphadenopathy is present. Hyperechoic fat is noted associated with the stomach and lymph nodes suggestive for an aggressive pathology.

DX

Gastric sarcoma

Outcome

The patient was humanely euthanized by owner request.

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

Neoplasia, gastritis, pancreatitis, foreign body, infectious, maldigestion.

Sampling

FNA of the gastric mass revealed sarcoma.
