Gastric foreign body in a 2 year old MN Doberman Pinscher

This 2-year-old neutered male Doberman Pinscher dog was presented for persistent anorexia and occasional vomiting. The physical exam revealed mildly tacky mucous membranes and a tense cranial abdomen. The CBC was normal. Blood chemistry revealed mild ALT and ALP elevations. Urinalysis was not performed.

DX

Gastric foreign body

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Foreign body, pseudo-obstruction created by focal ileus.

Image Interpretation

There is a 7 cm hyperechoic region with marked shadow that is partially obstructing the pyloric outflow.

Outcome

The patient recovered uneventfully.

Clinical Differential Diagnosis

Gastritis, pancreatitis, hepatic disease, foreign body

Sampling

Endoscopy was performed, and pieces of a camera belt were removed.
