This 12 year old MN Schnauzer mix presented with excessive licking of left nostril with discharge. Pink, raised soft tissue noted on ventral floor of left nares. R/O mass, fungal, FB
CT of the head – . Minor swelling of the mucosal lining of the nasal turbinates and floor of the nasal cavity is noted emphasizing the left side but essentially within the limits of the regular mucosal cycle. There is no evidence of turbinate destruction. Moderate rightward deviation of the cartilaginous nasal septum is noted within the mid and rostral third of the nasal cavity and within normal limits.
There is no evidence a mass lesion or a foreign body. Mild viral, bacterial or parasitic infection cannot be ruled out. Sampling of nasal secretions for bacterial culture is advised. The findings are not typical for fungal rhinitis at all.
