Case Study

07-00151 Houdini V Progressive adrenal mass——–NEED CDX———-

The patient is a canine Golden Retriever, NM, 11 years old. The patient was presented for a recheck exam to follow up a right adrenal tumor. The prior ultrasound revealed hepatic cyst that measured 2.1 x 2.04 cm and a separate cyst that measured 1.08 x 0.84 cm in the left liver. A separate nodule in the left liver measured 0.8 x 0.7 cm. The prior measurements of the adrenal gland were 2.5 x 0.65 cm at the cranial pole and 2.1 of the caudal pole of the right adrenal gland without vascular invasion. There was a pericapsular inflammatory pattern of the right adrenal gland that measured 2.7 x 0.4 cm. Patient is now PU/PD. An ACTH stim was inconclusive.

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Progressive right adrenal gland mass. Recommend right adrenalectomy. The right adrenal gland is strongly suggestive of adrenal carcinoma. Serial blood pressure would be warranted.

Image Interpretation

The right adrenal gland has enlarged further and measures 2.17 cm in width and 2.43 cm in width at separate poles.
