This is most consistent with nodular hyperplasia.
The liver presented mildly irregular contour and coarse architecture with increased portal markings. Micronodular changes were noted throughout the liver with only minor disruption of architecture. The gallbladder was otherwise unremarkable. There was no evidence of neoplasia noted.
GIT – IBD, parasitic, neoplasia, dietary, lymphangectasis. Liver – chronic liver disease, neoplasia. Pancreas – chronic pancreatitis, EPI, neoplasia. Cardiac – tricuspid valve endocardiosis, pericardial effusion.
Two 14-gauge biopsies were taken of the liver without evidence of complication. Portal to portal bridging fibrosis with acquired portosystemic collateral shunting.
