An 8-year-old MN DSH with history of hairballs (currently on Laxatone therapy), was presented for evaluation of vomiting. Abnormalities on physical examination were listlessness and mild dehydration. CBC showed leukocytosis, neutrophilia, basophilia, high MCHC, and elevated MCH. On blood chemistry hyperalbuminemia, elevated ALP and ALT activity, hypercholesterolemia, mild hyperglycemia, slight hypokalemia, and hyperbilirubinemia were evident. Blood gas analysis showed alkalosis with decreased HCO3, PCO2, and TCO2. T-4 was within normal range.
