DX

Jejunal mass with reactive mesentery/peritonitis type presentation and free fluid – concerning for carcinomatosis or similar

Outcome

Ultrasound guided FNA of the mass performed without complication. The mass does not appear to be obstructive at this time. The mass itself appears to be resectable. The patient underwent exploratory surgery at a veterinary referral center. A mass associated with the mid-jejunum extending 24cm was identified. The affected jejunum was resected and the two ends were anastomosed. Pathology results from the mass were consistent with intestinal hematoma. At 2 weeks post op examination the patient was found to be doing well with a fully healed incision.
