Abdominal Mass

Sonopath Forum

– 3 year old FS overweight Lab x with history of anorexia and lethargy

– bloodwork showed elevation in ALT (around 500) other parameters wnl; no cPLI run

– chest rads suspicious of mass in cranial thorax

– u/s showed a target-like lesion in the liver, a large cavitiated mass in the region of the left pancreatic limb, enlarged jejnunal LN’s and a heterechoic mass in the cranial thorax

– FNA’s are pending; did get cystic fluid from the large mass as well that I spun down and submitted cytology

– as I could not identify the left limb of the pancreas, I could not rule out a pancreatic mass, but I wonder if this could just be a big LN? What do you think?

– with all of this going on, I would put neoplasia high on the list but what else could this be?

The first image is the cranial abdominal mass, the second are the jejunal LNs

Panc mass Im thinking because

Panc mass Im thinking because oif the echogenic capsulke but any chance for video here?? really too young for panc carcinoma possible but LN based badness more likely with the age especially if in the chest too more of a lymphoma or similar pattern… maybe 2 different pathologeis at once??. Granuloma/necrosis with cyst possible especially in an overweight dog but usually doesnt have this prominent of LN with it.

Cytology results:  Plasma

Cytology results:  Plasma cell neoplasia – presentation suggesting alimentary plasma cell tumour metastatic to regional LN’s.

I would have guessed lymphoma as well.

Thanks as always!
