This 14 year old Yorkshire Terrier dog has a history of right CCL tear; ultrasound of the left stifle today.

Image Interpretation

Ultrasound of the left stifle –

A mild amount of periarticular osteophytes is noted emphasizing the femoropatellar joint.  The cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) is continuos and even in width. No periligamentous effusion is seen. The medial and lateral meniscus are in situ with even surface and uniform echogenicity.

DX

There is no evidence of cranial cruciate or meniscal pathology in the left stifle joint. Only mild osteoarthritic changes of questionable significance are noted. Rule out patellar luxation/instability clinically.
