DX

There is evidence of gastrointestinal hypermotiliy as well as a maldigestion pattern. This is most likely consistent with gastroenteritis.

Image Interpretation

right lateral, left lateral and VD abdomen – The serosal detail is maintained. The stomach is contracted and in a cranial position
whihc is a function of the mild microhepatica as well as the mass effect of the
intestinal tract. The stomach contains a mild amount of fluid and gas as well as a small
ovoid mineral opaque structure. The small intestinal loops are fluid filled and turgid,
but of even diameter without dilation. Small intestinal crowding is noted in the mid
abdomen. The large intestine contains a moderate amount of foamy material and gas,
wall spasm is noted.

Outcome

The radiographic findings do not support an obstructive process. The microhepatica may be a normal finding in this animal as well as an indirect sign of
hepatic fibrosis or potosystemic vascular anomaly with hypoplasia. Clinical and
laboratory correlation is warranted.
