Image Interpretation

CT of the head, plain, early and late post contrast- There is no evidence of traumatic bone or brain injury or acute hemorrhage.
There are no structural abnormalities of the brain. Mild hemispheric and lateral
ventricular brain asymmetry is noted. The attenuation and enhancement pattern of the
brain parenchyma is within normal limits.
The conformation of both external ear canals is narrow. There is moderate generalized
thickening of the ear canal wall with small foci of metaplasia.
Both tympanic bullae are aerated and present with thin & smooth bony walls.
The skull conformation is typical for a brachycephalic dog. The dentition is reduced
with the typical brachycephalic malocclusion.

DX

Normal CT of the brain

Outcome

Consider primary idiopathic versus post traumatic epilepsy.
Examination of cerebrospinal fluid is recommended to rule out diseases that are not
associated with structural changes such as inflammatory and metabolic
meningoencephalopathy.
