Sonographic Differential Diagnosis
Right ovarian remnant.
Elongated uterine stump.
Mammary hyperplasia or possible neoplasia. Sampling and/or mastectomy is recommended. Recommend further resection of the uterine stump to ensure that residual pathology or stump pyometra does not develop in this case along with right ovariectomy.
Image Interpretation
The region of the right ovary revealed a cystic structure that was consistent with ovarian remnant and measured 1.88 x 1.37 cm with a hypoechoic cyst that measured 1.04 cm. The region of the left ovary is wnl for a spayed animal. An elongated uterine stump was noted which extended to the level of the mid bladder. Right mammary chain revealed cystic and nodular parenchymal changes.
