The patient is a spayed female, 8 year old West Highland White Terrier dog, which presented for inappropriate urination and straining.

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Cystourethral thickening. Consistent with transitional cell carcinoma. There is a minor potential for urethritis.

Image Interpretation

The urinary bladder in this patient presented a 3 x 0.7 cm thickening at the cystourethral junction entering into the urethra. Focal mineralization was noted.

DX

Cystourethral thickening. Consistent with transitional cell carcinoma.

Outcome

None

Comments

Endoscopy, laser ablation and appropriate sampling would be recommended at Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital with a UGELAB procedure.
