A 4-year-old MN Pug was presented with a history of vomiting. The only abnormality on CBC and serum biochemistry was elevated chloride (330).

Sonographic Differential Diagnosis

Sonographically normal gastrointestinal tract

Image Interpretation

Examination of the gastrointestinal tract revealed a stomach wall measuring < 5mm. The small intestinal wall measured < 3mm. There were no signs of generalized or local ileus present in the scan. No infiltrative changes were noted. The colon appeared to be normal, the wall measuring 2 to 3 mm.

Outcome

The pet passed a 3.5 cm corncob.
