Hello

This is Blackie a 17 year old F DSH that presented for innability to use her hind legs.

An echo was performed to rule out HCM and subsequent saddle thrombus; the heart was normal but some liver abnormalities were seen through the diaphragm.

An abdominal US was performed and several anechoic masses were seen in the area of the GB. Some are round and some are irregular but do not appear to be directly associated with the biliary system. My specific question is about the stomach. The pylorus and pyloric antrum appeared normal but the body and fundus had material that was isoechoic with the liver with hyperechoic circular areas within it and distant reverberation. I have trouble seeing the distinct layers of the stomach wall and determining if this is luminal contents or something more sinister. There was no obvious fluid to suggest it is digesta and the cat is not eating. There was no doppler signal but the cat was open mouth breathing by the end and we chose to end the exam so I don’t feel that the doppler is reliable.X-rays show a radiodense fundus and body and gas in the rest of the stomach.

I was hoping for an opinion on the stomach whether this is digesta or something else. Thanks. Brent
