This might sound like stupid but wondering if anybody seen this before. I’ve found a splenic nodule that was not very well defined but consistent, measurable in different splenic views. I did sedate the dog and when attempted to FNA the splenic nodule couldn’t find it anymore. Is this something that happens due to splenic contraction, decrese BP, type of nodule, vasculature?

No reason why vascularized masses (hemaniogioma, hemagiosarcoma) can “disappear” when blood pressure falls.

Completely agreed. I would recommend splenectomy right away since chances of achieving a conclusive clinicopathological diagnosis are low anyway with these well vascularized masses/nodules even if you may find it back.

Thats an ugly nodule and likely fluid filled in part so when contracted spleen may partially dissappear. But when I’m looking for splenic nodules to sample after finding them initially its usually an angle thing or the spleen changed position and I justhave to try different angles. I agree with splenectomy here though as it loses architecture and fna usually only gives something to dx wiht parenchymal nodules like round cell neoplasia lsa mct and similar.
