So a few of the the M8s have had an quirky issue where the machine will not turn off when the power button is pressed as normal – fan is running, screen likely is black, and the unit is totally non responsive.

So a few of the the M8s have had an quirky issue where the machine will not turn off when the power button is pressed as normal – fan is running, screen likely is black, and the unit is totally non responsive.
Here is the procedure to follow :
First: try a hard shutdown. Hold shutdown button for 15-20 seconds. If turns off, wait a couple of minutes and restart. If this does not work and probably won’t-
Second – do a Cold Start.
unplug machine, remove probes
Get a phillips screwdriver and remove the backing of the battery compartment. remove the 2 batteries.
push power button several times – this is a critical step
replace battery. Start up as normal.
