Gastric carcinoma?

Sonopath Forum

  • 10 year old MN Labrador, GI signs and weight loss, mild hypoalbuninaemia
  • Severely thickened stomach wall focally with loss of layering
  • Also what seems to be severe lymphadenopathy +/- pancreatic masses
  • Do you think this consistent with a carcinoma?
  • Waiting permission to sample, would you FNA or endoscopic biopsy of stomach?

The relatively uniform, hypoechoic thickening of the stomach wall with loss of wall layering along with regional hypoechoic, swollen lymphadenopathy makes me think lymphoma over carcinoma or other neoplasms. The small intestine appears to be affected as well with decreased motility. Neoplasia is definitely the primary rule out.

The gastric wall looks to be about 2 cm depth in the picture. I would try to FNA the gastric wall or the lymph node.

I uploaded two incorrect videos here of small intestine sorry.

I will suggest FNA of stomach and nodes.

Thanks.
