FB in stomach

hello,

Blue is a 9 years old Malee rottweiler that was vomiting multiple times for the last 24 hours. ||bloodwork was showing mild established inflamation, chemistry was normal.  On the left lateral there is radiopaque material and focal US confirm it. Would you sgo directly to scope this dog or treat conservativelly and recheck x-rays ? On brief, focal US the pyloric duodenal junct seems normal but there is something shadowing in the stomach?

Thank you,

3 cm Im eyeballing here… if it goes south it will obstruct acutely and appears potentially sharp. I would do a quick gastrotomy and get gastric bx to ensure underlying disease isnt present as well given the older pica scenario.  See our article on this coexistence of underlying disease:

Thank you EL. I ve sent it for endoscopy which was negative for FB only grass found and x-rays this morning doesn t show any obstructive pattern. Weird. Unless bone that disolved or moving along…..

May have moved through to the colon…. seems too solid a shadow for a grass ball unless it was pretty packed. Did you scan before hydrating??? Gio kicks in when rehydrated and often moves things along. See what scope bx says likely some uinderlying disease maybe helicobacter or similar. Thanks for the follow-up
