Esophageal mass or hiatal hernia

Sonopath Forum

Esophageal mass or hiatal hernia

Spencer is an 8 yr old MN Miniature Pinscher weighing 13.8#.

He was being evaluated for a cough by the rDVM.

A mass was noted in the caudal mid thorax and radiologist was concerned about esophagus mass or hiatal hernia.

I tried to image this subcostally both standing and in dorsal recumbency. I have imaged pulmonary masses this way that were close to the diaphragm.

The images are not great but still curious as to what ya all think. The pet was panting alot during the exam.

From video number 1 the

From video number 1 the gastric fundus just prior to the GES loses detail and ill defined inlfmammatroy pattern is present (see attached image). Consider gastrinoma here as well as an erosive lesion. Scope as remo said is way to go or could address surgically but you will be working in a hole dorsally near the diaphragm.

Thank you for the input.
Thank you for the input. Interesting this dog has no clinical signs of regurgitation. Do you find that typical with these lesions?

Its an erosive mural

Its an erosive mural lesion… no liuminal fluid involved… likely irritative and painful.
