colonic mass

Sonopath Forum

13 year old Shitzu FS with blood in stool for 2 months. Elevated WBC, otherwise normal BW.  Decreased appetite and lethargic.  Had blood in stool 3 years ago that resolved with antibiotics.  Does it look like there is a partial intussusception? Awaiting FNA.

I wouldnt quite call this an

I wouldnt quite call this an intussusception as I can’t quite trace or see colon lumen in colon lumen but there is some mild folding of the colon wall which suggests some degree of pleating. Maybe this area wants to be an intussusception and I guess it could be sliding.

There is altered wall layer ratio in the area yet intact wall layering in general along with regional stasis, possibly paralytic stasis due to pathology. Most colon intussusceptions are secondary to mural neoplasia or masses. Pending cytology, colonoscopy or laparotomy biopsies are likely needed.
